NVQ Level2: Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)

SPRmarine Training offers many courses suitable for work places, organisations, large or small. Participation is open to an individual or groups. In the case of group training; it can be done at a suitable venue arranged by the group.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW). Duration one day; ideal for smaller organisations that present few health and safety risks.

On completion of training, successful candidates should understand their role as an Emergency First Aider as regards:

the importance of preventing cross infection;
the need for recording accidents and actions;
use of available equipment;
assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
administering first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizures);
administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
administering first aid to a casualty who is choking;
administering first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding;
administering first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock;
providing appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds and small splinters)

Also included, at no extra cost, is training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Successful candidates will be qualified as an Emergency First Aider at Work and will receive an EFAW certificate which is valid for 3 years, which is issued through AoFAQ an Ofqual Awarding Body.
